Utility crews heading east to help Florida, South Carolina deal with Hurricane Matthew

JACKSON, Mississippi (WJTV) – Crews and contract workers from Entergy are rolling out, headed to the East Coast to help electric companies there deal with the expected power outages caused by Hurricane Matthew.

Workers are convening at Trustmark Park in Jackson this morning.  Teams headed for Florida left on Wednesday.

The crews will assist their counterparts at South Carolina Electric and Gas and Florida Power and Light.

According to a written release issued yesterday, Entergy officials say their sister utilities in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas will send crews after the storm.
