911 lines down in Brandon, Pearl & Rankin County

Update: Pearl Police Captain Brian McGarity says the department now has two lines functioning properly. AT&T crews are continuing to work in the county.

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — 911 emergency lines are down for three agencies in the Metro area.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said the lines are down for the Rankin County Sheriffs Office, the Brandon Police Department and the Pearl Police Department at this time.

Sheriff Bailey said they believe the issue is linked to the grass fire that happened on I-20 in Pearl near the Airport Road exit.

For anyone who dials 911 in that area, the calls will be forwarded to the City of Flowood, Bailey said.

They are working to get the system back up and running.
