Jackson crews repair water leaks off Northside Drive

Water may be shut off temporarily

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — City of Jackson crews are working to repair two leaks off Northside Drive.

City officials said water might be shut off temporarily as crews work on the repairs. Crews are working to repair a leak on Manhattan Road; they are also trying to find the source of a leak that is underground off Lynwood Drive.

Businesses and residents in the area may be impacted. McWillie Elementary School is experiencing low water pressure in some parts of the building.

Jackson Public Schools Executive Director of Media Relations Sherwin Johnson said the low pressure hadn’t impacted food preparations. He said some water fountains are low. Students will use the restrooms where water pressure is still normal. Johnson said the staff will make more adjustments if needed.

City officials said the repairs could take several hours to complete.

A boil water advisory will be issued when repairs are complete for those affected.
