LAUREL, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi High School football player made history this past weekend.
She became the first female in state history to ever score a touchdown.
It’s hard to believe that among the boys, there’s a girl.
And that girl is Laurel High School’s Kendall Breland.
Not only does she help hold the defensive line…
Now in her senior season, Breland has gone from pushing past the big boys on the offensive line to following them into the end zone.
She made history this past Friday as the first female in Mississippi to score a touchdown.
“The offensive line was supposed to turn the defense on out so I could come through the hole and if any of the offensive linemen were free, they wouldn’t hit the linebackers so I could have the open ride straight through and that’s exactly what happened,” said Breland
Coach Todd bread says Kendall is one of the greatest teammates he’s ever coached in 23 years and has never wanted any special consideration.
