YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WJTV) – Yazoo City Council suspended their police chief, Jeff Curtis, for three days without pay.
The question is why?
It’s a question many people are trying to figure out.
WJTV talked to Yazoo City Alderman Jack Varner who says they voted to suspend Curtis Monday, October 10, 2016 and not everyone agreed on the suspension.
Varner says this all started when a city alderman and Chief Curtis had a disagreement on an issue.
Then he says one thing led to another and the council voted three to two and suspended Chief Curtis for three days without pay.
WJTV reached out to the Yazoo City Mayor Diane Delaware’s office to get comment; we were told she won’t be back until next week.
WJTV also reached out to the other alderman, left messages but still have not heard back at this time.
WJTV also reached out to Chief Curtis, that call has not been returned either.
