Rankin County School District responds to potential threat against Brandon High School

Brandon, Mississippi (WJTV) – Brandon High School will operate normally today after the school district confirms that a potential threat against it was received.

Rankin County School District Director of Public Relations Kristen Windham issued the following statement about the threat:

Yesterday we received information about a possible threat against Brandon High School. The administration worked with local law enforcement to locate, identify, and gather information related to all involved. At this moment, the leads have been investigated and there is no credible threat related to this situation. We are enhancing and providing extra security measures to ensure the safety of our school. Brandon High School will be operating as normal today, October 13, 2016.



Officials say they have been working with law enforcement to ensure the safety of students in the district.
