FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (WJTV) – No. 22 Arkansas and No. 12 Ole Miss have had plenty of memorable meetings. And now the Rebels will want to forget the last three.
Jared Cornelius’ late fourth quarter touchdown pushed the Razorbacks to another thrilling victory over the Rebels, topping them 34-30. That gives the Hogs three straight victories over Ole Miss.
The Ole Miss defense could not slow down the Arkansas attack. Quarterback Austin Allen threw for 229 yards, three touchdowns, and completed 59 percent of his throws. Rawleigh Williams III added on 180 yards on the ground.
It wasn’t the best night through the air for Chad Kelly. He completed just 46 percent of his passes while throwing one touchdown and one interception. Kelly was effective on the ground, rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns, including the score to put the Rebels ahead 30-27 in the fourth quarter.
Evan Engram was his usual playmaking self. He caught seven passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. The Rebel tight end moved into eighth all-time on the school’s all-time receiving yards list.
The loss pushes Ole Miss to 1-2 in SEC play. The Rebels will travel to LSU next on Oct. 22.
