LAUREL, Miss. (WJTV) — An 18-year-old is charged with murder in Laurel.
We’re told that Tamerick Drummond was shot Tuesday night.
Police went to South 19th Avenue and Lincoln Street around 10 p.m. after reports of shots fired. Laurel Police found Drummond suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
18-year-old Mekel Crumbly was arrested and charged. He is expected to appear in court Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing.
This is Laurel’s first homicide of the year, according to officials.
