JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) —  The man accused of kidnapping two women in separate incidents appeared in court for those crimes Tuesday.

32-year-old Marcus Baker went before a judge in municipal court and was denied bond.

U.S. Marshals initially arrested Baker on kidnapping charge after a woman said she escaped a home on McCluer Road last week.

The 19-year-old victim was found in the roadway begging for help. She told authorities she was kidnapped at gunpoint October 17 around 9 p.m. while she was walking in the Capital Street area.

She was locked in a bathroom and told authorities that she didn’t even know Baker.

After he was taken into custody, Baker was charged with an additional count of  kidnapping for a separate incident that happened on September 6. A 27-year-old woman was jogging on North West Street when she was allegedly approached by a man with a knife. She was forced into a car. She was able to escape near the Dollar General on Highway 80.

The judge denied Baker’s bond for both counts of kidnapping.
