Happy Halloween: Trick-or-Treating times, Events in Metro

(WJTV) — Halloween is almost here. Many groups and organizations are putting together fun family events for the occasion.

Some cities have also designated specific times for trick-or-treating. Here’s is a list of some of the events and times we’ve gathered so so far.

HALLOWEEN EVENTS

Wednesday, October 26

  • Pearl: Fall Trunk or Treat. October 26 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bounce Palace Pearl. There will be games and treats. Indoors there will be bounce houses and 36 holes of putt-putt. Outdoors there will be games and trunk or treat! The event is free. It is hosted by Metro Grace Community Church.
  • Ridgeland: Pumpkin Run. The event is at Soulshine Pizza in the Township. It will start at 6 p.m. Get more details here

Thursday, October 27

  • Jackson: Trunk-or-Treat at Metro Center Mall. Hosted by the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department. Event on Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. There will also be a costume contest for ages 12 and under.
  • Richland: Haunted Halloween Trail. The event will be held at the Community Center. The Haunted trail is $5 and the Pumpkin Patch is $2. There will be free games and refreshments. The event is Oct 27 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Get more details here.
  • Ridgeland: Trunk-or-Treat in Ridgeland at Freedom Ridge Park. The cost is $5. The event is October 27 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Get more details here.
  • Clinton: The Haunting of Olde Towne will as cake walks, costume contests for all ages, and carnival style games will return for this year’s event. It will be held on Thursday October 27 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The event is $2.
  • Town of Terry: Trunk-or-Treat is sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Byram-Terry. Police officers will decorate their police cruisers for the kids. There will also be free pizza for everyone.  The event is October 27 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 29

  • Brandon: Trunk-or-Treat with the Brandon Police Department. The event will be at Shiloh Park on October 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Get more details here.
  • Crystal Springs: Pumpkin Palooza. Will be held October 29 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event will be at the Railroad Park in Downtown next to the Police Department. Get more details here
  • Florence: Trunk-or-Treat at McLaurin High School 130 Tiger Drive. There will be a car show ($15 entrance fee for participants). There will be a trunk-or treat ($5 to enter a vehicle). There will also be vender booths, carnival games, and a costume contests ($3 for kids to enter, $5 for adults, $3 for pets). It is sponsored by the McLaurin High School BETA and PTSO. The event will be October 29 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Ridgeland: Treat Street and Movie in the Park at Township. October 29 from 4 p.m. at 8 p.m. Admission is $2 or 2 can goods. Get more details here.

Sunday, October 30

  • Brandon: Fall Fest at Crossgates Baptist Church.  There will be inflatables, games, food trucks and more. Admission is free. The event will be held at the church October 30 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
  • Ridgeland: Fall Festival. Colonial Heights Baptist Church hosts a fun and free fall festival on Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the community. There will be food vendors, entertainment and trunk-or-treat. Get more details here.

Monday, October 31

  • Byram: Trunk or Treat. The event will be held at Davis Road Park from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Admission is free. Get more details here.
  • Flowood: Kids Night Out in Flowood. The event will be at Liberty Park (behind the Flowood YMCA). It will be October 31 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The event is free. Get more details here
  • Jackson: Trunk or Treat Carnival. It will be held at the Jackson Police Training Academy at 3000 Saint Charles Street from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Admission is $1. Get more details here

Trick-or-Treating Times

 

  • Brandon: Halloween night, no specific hours
  • Brookhaven: Halloween night, no specific hours
  • Clinton: Halloween night. The city of Clinton is not responsible for rescheduling holiday observances. It is the discretion of a neighborhood and/or organization whether they will offer Trick or Treating on another day.
  • Crystal Springs: Halloween night
  • Florence: Halloween night, no specific hours
  • Flowood: Halloween night, no specific hours
  • Jackson: Halloween night, no specific hours set at this time (will be updated if anything changes)
  • Madison:  Halloween night, no specific hours
  • Pearl: Halloween night. Extra patrols will be made in residential areas along with increased police presence for the children.
  • Richland: Halloween night at sunset
  • Ridgeland: Halloween night. There may be a few subdivisions who alter plans and set their trick or treating to an alternate day, but these are up to the respective subdivisions.
  • Vicksburg: Trick-or-Treating hours set for Halloween night from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
