PURVIS, Miss. (WHLT) — A Purvis man is sentenced for child exploitation.
Attorney General Jim Hood said 18-year-old Jonathan Thomas Davis waived his indictment and pleaded guilty Wednesday to a bill of information to one count of child exploitation.
A judge sentenced Davis to 40 years in prison with 35 suspended. He will have to serve the remaining five years and have five years of post-release supervision.
AG Hood said Davis will also have to pay $1,000 to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund, $1,000 to the Mississippi Crime Victim Compensation Fund and must register as a sex offender.
He was arrested in August after investigators had said they found images of child pornography on an electronic device he had.
