PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) – A small plane crashed into the Mississippi Sound last October, killing three men aboard.
A year later, the search continues for the victims’ remains. And despite the passage of time, the searchers may be getting close.
Tina Cook, of Saucier, tells WLOX-TV (http://bit.ly/2eRIZWn) her husband, Dexter Brewer, was among those killed.
Though significant pieces of the wreckage were found, the victims’ remains have not been recovered. Cook says she appreciates that crews are not giving up.
Underwater recovery expert Mark Michaud has been working with the family.
He’s convinced the remaining portion of plane wreckage, along with the victims’ remains, are located beneath the bottom of the sound, embedded in the mud at the spot where the plane went down; the same place the Coast Guard recovered a large tail piece.
