WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One child is in critical condition after being struck by a car Sunday afternoon.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to U.S. 80 and Ironwood Drive around 1:00 p.m. relating to an accident concerning a vehicle and a pedestrian according to Corporal Eric Henry with the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Corporal Henry says “a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling east on U.S. 80 when a three-year-old boy was struck when the child ran out in the roadway trying to get a ball that rolled in the highway.”
That child is now at Merit Health in critical but stable condition.
The driver was not injured; also, the driver will not face charges.
