JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A pro-life group made a stop in Jackson on its 40 day bus tour.
This is part of the United 40 Days for Life campaign which started back in 2007.
Pro-choice advocates also held their own demonstration.
It all happened outside of the Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
It is the only abortion provider in the state of Mississippi.
The 40 Days for Life campaign includes 40 days of prayer and fasting, community outreach, and peaceful vigil outside of abortion centers.
“We’re in town because we’re standing with people across America and all 50 states who are right now praying and standing publicly for human life and we’re on this 50 state tour to come and thank the people of Jackson, Mississippi who have been so faithful in being a witness for human life,” said David Bereit, a 40 Days for Life campaign participant.
“I feel like that just cause we’re not on the same side, doesn’t mean we hate each other. There are some things I dislike about that sign, but I’m not saying I hate y’all. But I do say pro-choice.”
The tour is making stops in more than 125 cities to hold rallies and prayer vigils.
