HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — One person is in custody after law enforcement officers chased him down the interstate.
Hinds County Deputies arrested 29-year-old Chrishun Robert Buckley Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said he was driving a car reckless on I-220 North. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, they said Buckley kept going. Deputies said he lost control of the car at the stack near I-55 and I-20 West; he crashed into the median. Traffic was backed up in the area.
Buckley was arrested after a short struggle with deputies.
Hinds County officials said a 35-year-old woman, a 24-year-old woman and a 3-year-old were in the car with Buckley. The toddler was not restrained in the car, deputies said.
Buckley is facing reckless endangerment of a child, fleeing law enforcement, no driver’s license, and reckless driving.
Deputies seized an AR-15 along with a loaded 30-round magazine that they found in the car.
After Buckley is released from the hospital, he will the taken to the Hinds County Detention Center.
