JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The season for giving is right around the corner, and the Mississippi Poultry Association along with Gov. Phil Bryant is starting a little early.
A donation was made to the Salvation Army and other local charities. Wednesday at the Salvation Army’s Center of Worship.
The MS Poultry Association donated thousands of pounds of chicken and eggs to the non-profits so that they can serve those in need during the holiday season.
“We’re so excited to see a group of people like the MS Poultry Association and Gov. Bryant and all the other non-profits come together for a donation like this,” said Lt. Matt Hedgren of the Salvation Army.
Other charities that received part of the gift is the Mississippi’Food Network, The Mississippi Children’s Home and Catholic Charities.
