20-year-old missing from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ mat sinking unit

VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) — A 20-year-old woman is missing from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ mat sinking unit, officials said.

Gregory Raimondo, Chief of the Public Affairs Office for the Vicksburg District of USACE told WJTV that Larrielle Ross is missing.

Ross is a temporary food service worker on the Quarter Barges, which is a floating dormitory accompanying a mat sinking unit.

We’re told that they docked just west of New Orleans, near the I-55 and I-10 intersection. She was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and was reported missing the next morning.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff Office, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineering Vicksburg District are conducting the search for Ross.

They are trying to determine what happened.
