JACKSON, Mississippi (WJTV) – An abandoned building that was once a part of the Mississippi State Hospital is an eyesore for some. For others it has potential.
Councilman Kenneth Stokes is requesting that the building, located on Capers Avenue, be renovated as a homeless shelter or be donated to a non-profit.
Stokes says that all of the metal inside the building has been taken. He believes that the building, located behind a Boys and Girls Club, has the potential to be a crime magnet if nothing is done with it.
