OXFORD, Miss. (WJTV) – Now that his best player in Chad Kelly is out for the season, Hugh Freeze must decide what to do at quarterback.
He can turn to freshman Jason Pellerin, who has been primarily used as a runner this season. Pellerin has rushed 25 times with three touchdowns while throwing just 13 times with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Freeze said he will get most of the first team reps in practice this week.
Or he can turn to another freshman: former top-rated quarterback recruit in the nation for the Class of 2016, Shea Patterson. The problem is, Freeze would have to burn Patterson’s redshirt this year to do that.
