5th arrest made in MSU student murder investigation

(WJTV) — A fifth person has been arrested in connection with a Mississippi State University student’s death.

The U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested 18-year old Syboris A. Pippins Tuesday.

A warrant was issued robbery. Authorities said the robbery preceded the murder of Joseph Tillman, which happened on Maxwell Street early Sunday morning.

Syboris Pippins was taken to the Oktibbeha County Jail with a bond of $50,000.

Jaylen Barker was previously charged with murder in this investigation. Three others were charged with accessory. Barker has also been charged with possession of a stolen firearm. The bond for that charge is $25,000.

Brandon Sherrod, who was charged with accessory, has a bond that was set at $500,000 Tuesday.

Jamario Pippins, 22, Tyler Harris, 16, were the other two suspects charged with accessory.
