JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A local councilman is bringing the City of Jackson to the forefront of a national discussion.
Councilman DeKeither Stamps was chosen to be a part of the President-Elect’s transitional team.
Stamps is one of just 20 people in the nation picked to be on the team.
This group will help bring the future administration up to date on current issues.
At the top of his agenda is Jackson’s infrastructure.
“Entering into these discussions about presidential transitions and priorities of the next administration are vitally important for Mississippi; so the more we can advance our local issues to the national discussions, it allows us to in turn be a part of the solution going forward,” said Councilman Stamps.
The team will also meet with the outgoing administration to discuss the final issues of importance.
The meeting is Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
