Polling sites are open in Mississippi

JACKSON, Mississippi (WJTV) The polls are officially open in Mississippi.

WJTV’s Natay Holmes was at Christ United Methodist Church in North Jackson this morning.  She says that more than 1.8 million Mississippians are eligible to vote in this year’s elections.

It is against the law to campaign 150 feet from a polling place, and hats and shirts which promote a certain party or candidate must be taken off or covered when inside the polling place.

Voters are reminded to bring a valid photo ID or driver’s license to the polling place.  Approximately 130 voter ID cards were issued in the past month alone.
