JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — During Donald Trump’s victory speech he mentioned the importance of building back infrastructure in America.
WJTV talked with Jackson Councilman De’Keither Stamps about the topic. He is one of 20 people chosen to meet with the newly elected president’s transition team to recommend policies for the future administration.
Tuesday, Stamps said Jackson’s roadways are at the top of his priorities. He says he was glad to hear the president-elect was concerned about the country’s infrastructure as well.
“We will rebuild our infrastructure,” Trump said. “Which will become second to none.”
“I appreciate the president-elect mentioning infrastructure,” Stamps said. “I think it’s a problem across the country and more specifically in Jackson, Mississippi.”
