STARKVILLE, Miss. (WJTV) — The charges for two suspects arrested in connection with a murder investigation of a Mississippi State University student have been upgraded to capital murder.
Syboris Pippins was the fifth person arrested in connection to the death of Joseph Tillman.
He was initially charged with robbery; it has now been updated to murder. Syboris Pippins’ bond was set at $2 million.
Jaylen Barker’s murder charge was upgraded from murder to capital murder.
Tillman was shot on Maxwell Street on November 6. Authorities said the shooting was related to an attempted robbery.
Three others were arrested and charged with accessory to murder: Jamario Pippins, 22, Tyler Harris, 16, and Brandon Sherrod, 19.
