JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Police have named a suspect in the fatal shooting that happened at a gas station on University Boulevard.

Police are looking for 26-year-old Alex Dixon. He is wanted for the murder of 21-year-old Deswaund Bell.

Bell was gunned down at the Shell gas station on University Boulevard on Wednesday. Police released surveillance videos of the possible suspect.

Bell was shot multiple times and taken to the hospital where he died.

Police determined during their investigation that the two men had an altercation inside the store. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim several times before leaving the scene.

Bell’s murder was the 57th homicide of the year in Jackson. Last year Jackson Police investigated at a total of 58 homicides.
