JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A film crew is in town shooting a movie about an Ole Miss football star who suffered a injury that left him paralyzed.
The film crew for “It’s Time” is taping a movie is about Chucky Mullins.
Some of the movie is being filmed at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Jackson this month.
Extras are needed to be a part of the crowd, sideline football players, and other parts.
Mullins, a talented football player, was granted a four-year, scholarship to the University of Mississippi, according to Ole Miss Sports. He was redshirted in 1988 and later played the position of a defensive back. In 1989, Mullins suffered a tragic injury that left him paralyzed. It was a homecoming game against Vanderbilt.
Mullins was injured while making a tackle on Brad Gaines who played for Vanderbilt.
Mullins died in 1991 from a blood clot.
Fritz Mitchell is directing the film and Wendy Yamano is listed as a producer.
The crew is also asking for movie extras.
