JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV)– A man is sentenced after authorities had said he attempted to rob a gas station on Terry Road.

U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis said 29-year-old Jeremy Cousin was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. He must also pay a $1,500 fine.

In August 2015, officials said Cousin tried to rob the Super Star Gas Station located at 914 Terry Road. The robber had a bandanna over his face and pulled out a weapon.

The store clerk pulled out a weapon and shot Cousin in the leg and then called 911.

The 9mm handgun that was used by Cousin was recovered from the scene.
