MDOC captures escaped inmate in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Mississippi Department of Corrections confirms they have located escaped inmate, Justin Deon Lloyd in Jackson.

Their Facebook page states they found the Wilkinson County Correctional facility inmate Saturday night.

The post goes on to say, was arrested without incident at 8:50 p.m. in the Westland Plaza shopping center by investigators from the department’s Corrections Investigation Division.

Lloyd, MDOC #197737, now faces an escape charge in addition to his convictions on vehicle and identity theft in Rankin County. He received a total of 25 years to serve when he was sentenced on June 16.

He was housed at the Wilkinson County Community Work Center when he escaped Wednesday. He had been assigned to work with the Natchez City Public Works Department.

Lloyd is now headed back to Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, where he was housed initially.

NATCHEZ, Miss. (WJTV) — Natchez Police need your help locating an inmate who walked off a work detail.

Police tell WJTV that Justin Deon Lloyd was on work release from Wilkinson County Correctional Facility. Police said he was working with the Natchez Public Works Department when he walked off the work detail around 1 p.m.

Authorities noticed Lloyd was gone when they did a head count in the break room at the public works department.

He was serving 15 years for identity theft and 10 years for two counts of vehicle theft, Natchez police said.
