RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — A member of Rankin County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Interdiction Task Force arrested a Texas fugitive that was wanted for homicide.

The deputy on the task force arrested 60-year-old Gary Hendry of New Braunfels, Texas in Rankin County on I-20 Wednesday around 1:30 p.m., according to Sheriff Bryan Bailey.

Officials said the deputy recognized the SUV. The vehicle, a gray Dodge SUV which has Texas tags, matched the description of a homicide suspect’s SUV that was sent to agencies across the county from Texas

The law enforcement officer pulled Hendry over without incident. He found several weapons inside the vehicle.

Hendry was wanted in connection with a homicide related to a structure fire that happened Tuesday in Comal County, Texas.

He will be held in the Rankin County Jail until his extradition, officials said.
