Meth, pot found in Richland during traffic stop; 1 arrested

RICHLAND, Miss. (WJTV) — A man is busted for drugs in Richland.

Police arrested 35–year-old Jason Brown during a traffic stop Monday. He was charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.

Richland Police said they pulled Brown over on Highway 49 for improper equipment. The officer noticed a strong marijuana odor coming from the car and started questioning Brown. He admitted to having drugs in the car.

The officer found three grams of methamphetamine, three individual bags of marijuana, digital scales, syringes, a glass pipe and a hollowed out nut and bolt set.

The officer found three more bags of meth in the bolt, for a total of 16 grams of meth.
