JACKSON, Miss. – Dozens of people have given up the comfort of their own homes tonight to spend the night in a park for a good cause.

Tuesday night Mississippi Move is hosting their third annual Sleep-Out to help the homeless.

This is the third annual sleep-out at Poindexter park.

The event is to raise awareness for Jackson’s homeless population, many of which camp out in Poindexter park year-round.

Several different organizations came together to make the Sleep-Out happen.

Volunteers not only donated their time but food, clothing, blankets, and even hygiene items to the homeless.

The Sleep-Out ends Wednesday morning at six o’clock.

If you feel like stopping by donations are welcomed.
