YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — The community of The Village of Eden in Yazoo County is hoping to raise money to repair their town hall building.

The building was completely destroyed during last week’s severe weather.

A massive tree fell on top of the town hall while Mayor Lekisha Hogan and her clerk were inside.

the GoFundMe page states, “The wind severely damaged tin roof, the beams in the ceiling, the air/heat fans and vents in the ceiling and a wall that supports the electrical box.”

It also says they did not have the proper insurance to repair the building.

The town is hoping to raise $15,000 to help repair damage caused by the storm.

Hogan says the town hall building is where the town would hold many of their community events.
