UPDATE: Bond was set at $5,000 for Eddie Adams. He appeared in court Tuesday morning in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, Mississippi (WJTV) – A man accused of trying to steal a car from a woman taking Christmas decorations out in Rankin County is scheduled to appear in court today.

Eddie Terrell Adams allegedly confronted the female victim on Sunday when she came back for a second load of decorations from her car.  The 35-year-old was arrested on November 27, 2016 after deputies say he took the woman’s car from her driveway to the street.  She says that he had a “long” gun with him.  She says that she ran back inside her home and called 911.

A rifle was taken from a home in the nearby Mill Creek subdivision earlier that day.  Rankin County Sheriff’s Deputies believe that the two crimes are connected.
