JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Ford Motor Company and the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage presented $20,000 to students studying science, technology, engineering and math at Jackson State University.
The money will be divided up into 10 scholarships of $2,000 each.
The funds will go to STEM majors.
JSU was chosen as the scholarship winner during a voting contest on the annual Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise.
The Tom Joyner Foundation supports historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in several states throughout the country. The foundation hosts an annual cruise, called the “Fantastic Voyage,” which helps to raise money for the organization.
