JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A group of Jackson employees is a part of a nationwide program named What Works Cities.
They’re comparing Jackson’s spending habits to other cities. The city is also launching an app. There’s no name for it just yet.
However, it will be available for the public to download to see the city’s budget and just where tax dollars are going.
“The important piece of it is that now there will be access from the general public to see what the city is doing with their money,” said Mayor Tony Yarber.
Fifty-five cities in 33 states were selected for the program. A tentative date for the app is December 15.
