Man dies after being beaten, kidnapped in Jackson; 2 wanted for capital murder

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson Police are looking for two people wanted in connection with a murder investigation.

Officers are searching for 41-year-old Antonio Dixon and 36-year-old Dean Benjamin

35-year-old Timothy Townsend was found behind a building near Mill and Cohea streets Sunday around 2:35 a.m.

Officers said it appeared that Townsend had been assaulted. He was taken to the hospital. He died Tuesday from his injuries.

The investigation determined that on Saturday night around 9:15 p.m., the victim was in a silver Nissan Altima near Deer Park and Rose streets with someone else who was a passenger in the car. Authorities said they were in an accident with a white Chevy Tahoe.

There were two men inside the SUV. Police said there was an altercation between the victim and the people inside the Tahoe. Townsend was kidnapped, beaten and robbed after the traffic accident.
