YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – **UPDATED AT 12:26 PM**
Mississippi Highway Patrol Corporal Eric Henry is confirming the woman killed Sunday, in a hit and run, has been identified as 67-year-old Susan Rowland of Canton, MS.
Troopers are still investigating the incident and working to find out who is responsible for this.

YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers responded to a deadly hit and run around 7:30 Sunday morning, MS 432 near I 55.
When they arrived on scene they discovered a white female was found laying in the roadway deceased with trauma to her body.
MHP troopers believe that at some time during the night or early morning the female had a minor accident in her vehicle which caused her vehicle to get stuck in the mud.
They think she then exited her car and began to walk up the roadway to search for help and at some point was struck by a unknown vehicle that left the scene.
Also at the scene inside her Chevrolet Tahoe was a dog.
At this time there are no leads or what make or model of the hit and run vehicle.

The identity of the female who was killed is not being released until her family is notified.
