Attorney files motion to postpone trial for Grenada dad charged in hot car death

Attorney says his client's fiancée is pregnant with twins

GRENADA, Miss. (WJTV) — The attorney representing the Grenada dad accused in a hot car death of his daughter has filed a motion to postpone the trial for his client.

Attorney Carlos E. Moore said the district attorney’s office said Joshua Blunt’s trial would happen between January 9th and February 3rd.

He is expected to stand trial for culpable negligence manslaughter in the hot car baby death of his eight-month-old daughter, Shania Carodine.

Moore said Blunt’s fiancée is pregnant with twins and she has a high-risk pregnancy. He filed a motion for continuance.

The motion is expected to be heard on December 20.
