Clinton Police: Bank robber confesses to crime

CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) — Clinton Police are investigating a bank robbery.

According to police, 20-year-old Terry Spann confessed to the robbery.

It happened at the Trustmark Bank on Clinton Boulevard a little after 1 p.m.

Witnesses said the suspect had a black plastic bag on his head.

They said the robber ran out of the bank on foot and jumped a cyclone fence on the North side of the bank property.

Police responded and stopped a vehicle traveling East on Clinton Boulevard. Officers said the driver, Spann, matched the description of the bank robbery suspect.

Officers said a photo of Spann was shown to witnesses; the confirmed to police that he was the robber.

Police said the $20 bill pack and tracking device was located on the shoulder of Clinton Boulevard.
